The Science of Prophecy

*Spiritual Astrology (by Spiller & McCoy) (ISBN 0671660411, $14.00) If there is one book I recommend to learn about the astrological signs, this is the one! This is absolutely the best book that describes the signs, their strengths & pitfalls. Read it first for your Sun Sign and Moon sign. Use the Solar eclipse info as your Sun sign, and the Lunar eclipse stuff as your moon sign. You will be awed and amazed at what it tells you! Then go back, and figure out your eclipses in the back of the book, and become further amazed!

*Michelsen’s American Ephemeris 1900-2000 and 2001-2050. You’ll use the latter to determine where the planets are today and the former to see what was happening historically when things happened to you in the past. Obviously, the newer is more crucial. It will be your Astrologer’s Bible.

The Only Way To Learn Astrology, Vol. I & II by March & McEvers ($12.95 each) They say Volume I is going out of print, so if you can grab it, please do! This series, which even has further volumes, if you can find them, are the best ever with which to learn the basics. Easy to understand and yet covers all the bases.

The Only Astrology Book You’ll Ever Need (ISBN 1568332319, $16.95) The title says it all—it’s been true for years and still is true! A great book for do-it-yourself-ers.

The Astrological Houses by Dane Rudyar (ISBN 0916360245) Good books on the houses are few and far between, so you might as well get this good one by one of the master astrologers.

Book of Houses by Cole & Williams (ISBN 093455823X, $12) Another valuable book on what the houses mean.

Aspects Magnified by Mohan Koparkar (ISBN 0918922062) Beg, borrow, or photocopy this book—it’s the best and most complete one I have ever seen on the aspects. I hear it’s going out of print, so if you see it, nab it!

Past Life Astrology: How your former lives influence your presentby Judy Hall (ISBN 1-84181-3) Godsfield Press. This book--and Miss Judy--peaked my interest in karmic astrology. It has a new name and cover, but it still holds the same fascinating information about astrology and past lives.

The Hades Moon: Pluto in Aspect to the Moon by Judy Hall (ISBN 1- 57963-039-8) For those with this major Pluto problem, Pluto and the Moon in conjunction, this is a book filled with insight.

Archetypes of the Zodiac by Burt (ISBN 0875420885, $19.95) How does the symbolism of mythology affect how we read charts for others? This book uncovers the twelve astrological types of individuals and their background in mythology. A great book if you want to thoroughly understand each sign.

Astrology and Past Lives by Devlin (ISBN 0914918710, $19.95) This book features a lot of information on Saturn and the slower planets and what they tell us about former lives, while giving a great deal of insight on one’s current life.

Healing Pluto Problems by Donna Cunningham. For those of us born with “Pluto problems”, this book is a must as well! Pluto brings some unusual and transformational life lessons to certain “lucky” people, so we’d better learn to deal with them! So here’s how!

Good books on the houses are few and far between, so you might as well get this good one by one of the master astrologers.

Chiron & the Healing Journey by Melanie Reinhart (ISBN 0140192093, $12.95) Everybody has a Chiron problem, though, so find out what it is, and work with it! Chiron is called “The Wounded Healer” and will direct you to specific influential childhood pains, which then you must gradually heal as an adult. This book will help you identify the issues that motivate many of the crazier transitions that have taken place in your life.

Liquid Light of Sex by Barbara Hand Clow (ISBN 1879181746, $16) Contrary to the title, this book really has to do with transits of Uranus & Neptune in your chart and life. Don’t be scared by the title or the author; this is a worthwhile read for people wanting to understand mid-life crises.

The Ultimate Asteroid Book by J. Lee Lehmann (ISBN 0914918788) This really doesn’t list all the asteroids, but it is a good one with a general ephemeris of the most common asteroids in the back. Good for psychological analysis.

Solar Arcs by Neal Tyl (ISBN 0738700541, $19.95) What to know when the “big things” are going to happen in your life? This book helps you to easily identify the “forks in the road” as they occur in your life. If you want to know when you’ll get married or if you’ll someday find fame and fortune, read this book!

Identifying Planetary Triggers by Teal (ISBN 4567187056, $17.95) Why do things happen the way they do? This book helps identify the significant crossroads in your life as they occur.

Sabian Symbols by Marc Edmund Jones (094335840X, $22.95) An expensive little book this is, but very valuable in the symbolism offered by another astrological master. For every degree of the zodiac, there is a special symbolic vision that goes with it, which Jones has enumerated for us. This can make the astrology chart become alive with visual imagery and richer yet in symbolism. Better than a tarot deck, and deeper!

New Insights Into Astrology by Nona Gwynn Press (ISBN 0935127127, $19.95) This book tackles such fascinating subjects as Midpoints, Arabic Parts, & more. Once you’ve mastered basic skills, you’ll want to try out some of this stuff for a fresh look at your “old chart”!
