When I wrote this article, I was on the fence about who would win, although I knew Hillary would be OUT. Notice how I said that she would be travelling around the world, as indeed she has done as Secretary of State. It wasn't until I later looked at Inauguration Day that I realized that the winner would be Obama. It showed Obama's Jupiter on the day's Sun, whereas it showed John McCain hurting and bucking up to shoulder his reputation--and Sarah Palin was just plain p.o.-ed! It was pretty clear who was going to be really happy on that day! It also showed Obama going "Oh, %@&!*!!!" once he got in there. More on that later...here's what I wrote in the summer of '08...
Elections 2008
Election Day is November 4, 2008, and a new president will take office in January 2009.
It’s always fun to look at the birthcharts of the prospective holders of that office, and take a guess as to who will make it, and who won’t. While I thought Gore would win in 2000 (and he did) and I saw that Kerry and Edwards would be on a kind of “joint track” in 2005, I always felt Bush would win by dirty tricks. And he did. The “joint track” of Kerry and Edwards was away from the White House, not towards it.
Talk about tracks! Reading the stars is like being a “tracker”, the old-fashioned kind, like a guide with hand-on-brow scouting for signs. And sometimes, we read the signs wrong! Nevertheless, it’s the figuring that’s fun, so here’s my take on the 2008 election.
It’s a no-go for Hillary. On Election Day, she will be hurting, just aching, behind the scenes. She’ll be talking to pals behind closed doors, and like a true Scorpio, will be already plotting her next move. Hillary will be leaving town by mid-November for a world tour, because she will be starting a commitment to her new legacy. Hillary has a lot of big-money backers, and they will be willing to support her in other ventures. She will have too much anxiety to just sit home, so don’t expect her to do a vacation. She will be already setting her goals for the future and taking action on them immediately. Don’t think she hasn’t already planned this. She did. She’s in it for the long haul, folks. She is a committed person and will devote herself to world peace, while getting a “piece of the pie”. She’s a practical girl, after all.
Barack, on the other hand, has what it takes to lead. But his chart shows a more spiritual kind of leadership, which is why folks are so inspired by him. He has a certain “je ne sais quoi”—an “I don’t know why I like him” allure. He has indicators of a sudden rise to power, and he is going through the doorway of major endings and major new beginnings. I am worried about a July 4th attack on him, or some other forced action taken that changes everything. I see he talks with loved ones, and they are recommending him to take a specific plan of action at that time. I think he sees the attack as a motivator to stand strong.
He won’t be seeing much of his home for a very long time, and there will be times when he thinks (mid-October) what am I doing? Certainly November shows him starting work on some of his goals and getting down to it, and he gives a moving, heartfelt speech in mid-November, touting hope and growth. But these are words, not actions. In January and February, he is traveling, not seeing much of his family, and feeling very disconnected. He is a busy man and learns some new things but is not allowed to speak of them. By April 1, he moves his home base and is dealing with burdens and unseen obligations around the home front. He doesn’t see much of his wife or kids, and they have new projects and disruptions in their lives as well. As I’ve said before elsewhere, the first couple weeks of April 2009 will be tough, and so it is especially true for Obama, as it affects his homefront.
Hillary too is emotionally upset by it, and it affects her home front as well.
As of Election Day, John McCain moves his residence and gets busy on his job. His wife flies off somewhere, but behind closed doors, he makes a commitment to her. His life, which has been hectic and crazy all this year, continues to be so. There is some kind of volatility that he is trying to keep control of in April 2008, and there is some intelligence that is secret that he has to keep mum as well. He is trying to keep this intelligence from being released to the public. Things are better in May, but there’s a spat with wifey in early June, and there are going to be some major disagreements there by August. All of this has to do with the secrets that have been held back. All of this really sounds like it’s McCain who makes it to the White House, unless, of course, the volatile issues are immigration issues along the border in his own state or illness issues.
It’s worth looking at the states in question,
Washington D.C., The United States chart, and even the charts of the wives.
So, let’s start with the
U.S. chart. Barack loves the
U.S., and the
U.S. chart loves him. He has so many planets in the partnership area of the
U.S. chart that he was certainly born to be a public servant for the country. The two charts indicate that Obama will indeed be an agent of change, both in front of the camera and behind closed doors as well, for the
United States. He is a transformer, and again there is an indicator of a spiritual transformation happening under his tutelage. He does indeed speak like a leader, and he leads a spiritual change for the country, his old pastor notwithstanding.
Hillary too has a firm commitment to this country, but it seems her strengths will be used overseas rather than here. Hillary knows about self-control, determination, and bearing up under burdens. She actually would make a great vice president, if she would accept it.
McCain’s connection to the
U.S. is a more idealistic one. And truthfully, he has a love/hate relationship with her. He is fiercely patriotic and so almost blindly in love with her. He hurts when people speak ill of her. He raises a strong arm to protect her, but he will negotiate first. When necessary, he will cut communication ties, and he will always want to expand her influence and that of the constitution abroad. This is NOT a Ron Paul isolationist type person.
DC and Obama have a pain connection. He loves her, so he wants to heal her, but she just doesn’t want to grow! He will make it happen in tiny little ways. DC is a city that is vulnerable to attack, and the strong leaders who love this country clearly gather there to protect her. It’s a summit of suitors, that’s for sure! Whoever takes George’s place is going to bring healing, because DC has indeed been hurting, and her reputation around the world is not good. So change is gonna come, starting Election Day.
McCain uses a blend of strong arm politics and idealism—sometimes even blind faith—to make changes in DC. He knows that he can use leverage to get the change he wants, and occasionally he sucks up. It works for him.
Hillary girds for battle when she goes to
Washington. She is like an Amazon woman, prepared for any and every attack, but she is like a Mother Tiger waiting to protect her children, and you talk about someone willing to fight! Unfortunately, when she goes into the Lion’s Den, she will foment more scraps and battles than quell them, so it’s best and more advantageous for her to leave her beloved DC, because she can be of more help elsewhere. So sorry, girl! But it’s true!!!
Arizona has already felt left behind by its native son, and although he will make a promise not to forget her in August,
Arizona knows when she’s been abandoned. Her partner leaves town, and so it’s looking good, astrologically, for Senator McCain but bad for
Arizona as she will be left to deal with her own struggles. She may be momentarily proud, but not for long…
Illinois also sees the loss of a native son, but she also gets more attention from around the world, and so the spotlight shines in
Illinois. At first, the excitement is great, but then dirty laundry begins to air, and maybe the paparazzi bug is too much for the
Land of
Lincoln.
Since it still seems like Obama and McCain are neck and neck, let’s look at the wives. Michelle Obama moves and gets a new job in January 2009. That’s telling…I can’t find a birth date for Cindy.
A fellow astrologer made a point that with Uranus transiting McCain’s 6th house, plus Saturn transiting his Virgo Sun and Neptune in the 11th, that McCain might have health issues, and that is certainly true. His wife too has major health issues, and although I couldn’t find her birthday, we know she has had high blood pressure and a stroke, so that could be a reason for marital difficulties arising later. About McCain and monied women, yes, he does like them, and yes, he does try to keep that stuff out of the limelight, but he doesn’t always do well at keeping that so. But he has learned to keep his vulnerabilities from exposing him, so no wonder he did not give anything to his enemies when he was tortured by the North Vietnamese. He has a huge tolerance for pain.
Although some are worried about Obama’s idealism, it is McCain’s idealism that may be more harmful to him. Obama knows it is his destiny to bring change, and he will use a reasonable head and measured words to do it.
If I did a reading for Lady Liberty, here is what I would say:
Choose your beloved in September. You will be asked for your answer. Your heart is hurting, and there are so many burdens to heal from the disconnection of past years. This was karmic, my dear, that you should be removed from the world of those that loved you, and now you must regain your reputation as a healer. Attend to details of your dreams, and pursue them with exactitude in tiny ways. Individuals and tiny actions eventually build up to big change.
Watch your budget, and trim the fat. Don’t let your partner get wild on you; you won’t!!! Look at oil, and other hidden things, and use your ideals to be the basis for creating your reality. A practical but spiritual man is a good choice for spouse. Tell your partner what you expect, and then hold him to it. Doesn’t your marriage contract (the constitution) say that? Yes. Fill the till; grow behind closed doors. Take a trip abroad and speak powerful but honest and meaningful words. You don’t have to tell everything at first. Turn in your old wedding ring and accept the new in private, and let the relationship grow. It is indeed time for a BIG change, behind the scenes, in your life. You are beloved, even by those that say goodbye, but be smart, be practical, and do not let dreams get the better of you. You won’t.
Your new love will seem strange, and you won’t connect right away. If you feel alone or cut off from the conversation at first, not to worry. Let the healing begin and your day as a world server (instead of a world police) come into being. Others rebel against you in early April, but your partner does his best to control it and soothe. Let your partner take the upper hand, and the relationship will get stronger and better, not only between you but with others as well. Change is hard, but one year from Election Day, the two of you will feel unified and strong and like a family. Growth is on the way.
