The Science of Prophecy

Signs

Your astrological sign is based on where the Sun was in the Heavens during the time you were born.  This is a placement in accordance with the seasons and coordinates with the location of the Sun amidst the zodiacal belt of the constellations, from which the familiar zodiac names originate.  Your Sun sign tells what season in which you were born and expresses a host of general qualities associated with each sign.  These explanations give a quick and very simplistic summary of each sign.  Look for your sign based on your birth date.

Aries the Ram
(March 21-April 20)

Rams are progressive, idealistic individu-
als with independence on their minds.
They are creative, directive, and entrepreneurial.  Not afraid to go "where
no man has gone before"; Rams find new ventures and new places exciting. They
are usually happy, out-going leaders,
very creative, and self-sufficient.
They make enjoyable partners once they
do settle down, but the ride will never be boring, and the path of life will never be
well worn.
Positives: Creative, optimistic
Negatives: Impulsive, independent
Quote:"A rolling stone gathers no moss."

Taurus the Bull
(April 21-May 20)

Taurus the Bull is really a cow.  Nurturing and practical,
Taureans are artistic and and purveyors of love and beauty of the most mundane.  Their art is decorative and attuned to the sensual aspects of life: taste, touch, smell, hearing, and sight.  They literally create eye candy for the home.  But they are settled, steady individuals, interested in accruing materialistic items as well as a good bank account.  Their emotions are best expressed through the everyday activities and services they offer others and through the beautiful things they create.
Positives: Strong, steady, practical
Negatives: Stubborn, silent, slow
Quote: "Slow and steady wins the race."

Gemini the Twins
(May 21-June 20)

Gemini is all about the fun, happy go lucky, eternally optimistic, and brimming with endless ideas for the future.  Problem is, he/she doesn't always get it done.  Gemini is a superb communicator and knows what people want to hear, and so for that reason, they are extremely pleasing to be around.  They are so changeable that they are quite often unreliable, because they are easily distracted, but they are interested in everything and can often do a little bit of everything quite well.
Positives: Fun to be with, charming, good conversationalist
Negatives: Inconstant, unreliable, often perceived to be a liar because of a roving attention span
Quote:"The place where optimism most flourishes is the lunatic asylum."--Havelock Ellis, English sexual psychologist (1859-1939)

Cancer the Crab
(June 21-July 20)
Crabs are shy but protective, non-confrontational but nurturing.  They are most well known for their stick-to-it-iveness and their utter dislike for change.  They are geared towards home and family, and their undying love can become almost smothering.  They are compassionate caretakers and creative individuals, and they just love anything about the past: history, photos, movies.  They are like M & M's, hard on the outside, meltingly soft on the inside.
Positives: Loving, nurturing, family-oriented
Negatives: Smothering, sensitive, not inclined to change
Quote:"I tend to live in the past because most of my life is there."-- Herb Caen

Leo the Lion
(July 21-August 20)
Leo is the undisputed king.  Lovable and loyal, Leo is the universal father figure,
giving paternalistic advice and direction.
Boisterous and outgoing, Leo likes to be the center of attention and the CEO.  Don't be disloyal to Leo, though, or you may just be exiled from their country.
Shy Leos are like flowers that were never tended. Their color and beauty shrivel up due to lack of attention and watering.  Needless to say, then, Leo needs to be needed and loved.  They thrive on appreciation and love, and when they receive it, they return it in spades.
Positives: Loving, romantic, faithful
Negatives: Bossy, jealous, obnoxious sometimes.
Quote:"It's my way or the highway."

Virgo the Virgin
(August 21-September 21)
Virgos are curious, critical, and practical minded individuals.  They are writers and great trouble-shooters, because they are organizational and analytical. Virgos are the original world servers, geared to making the world a better, more organized place.  They are flexible and good problem solvers, and if you want to get something done, hire a Virgo, because no task is too boring for them!
Positives: Analytical, organized, detail-oriented, logical
Negatives: Negative-minded, sees the glass half empty rather than half full, anal
Quote:"The ability to focus attention on important things is a defining characteristic of intelligence." --Robert J. Shiller, Irrational Exuberance

Libra the Scales
(September 21-October 20)

Librans are all about beauty, harmony, and partnership.  While they may go to extremes while trying to find justice for all, they also fall into the trap of being indecisive, since they can be convinced of anything.  They love books, beautiful things, and the arts.  Some Librans are obsessed with right and wrong and the justice system, because fairness is important to them.  They are usually charming and pleasant individuals and fabulous negotiaters, since they can see all sides of a question.
Positives: Peace-loving, color-coordinated, and agreeable
Negatives: Indecisive, obsessed with beauty, impossible to pin down.
Quote:"If it were not for injustice, men would not know justice." --Heraclitus Greek philosopher (540 BC - 480 BC)

Scorpio the Scorpion
(October 21-November 20)

Scorpions are known for their passion and pushiness, for their extremes of emotion and their perseverance.  They can love like there is no tomorrow and be not only your worst enemy, but their own as well.  They are deeply sensitive while appearing charming, but their intensity is usually obvious.  Once they decide upon a goal, there is no stopping them, but the tendency to run over others to reach the goal needs to be attended.
Positives: Forceful, determined, diligent
Negatives: Vengeful, self-destructive, oblivious
Quote: "Envy is the ulcer of the soul." Socrates Greek philosopher in Athens (469 BC - 399 BC)

Sagittarius the Archer
(November 21-December 20)
Archers are light-hearted with a fire center.  They are world travellers and international communicators, sometimes with a spiritual bent.  They are oftentimes known as teachers and outdoorsy types.  Their easy-going nature can lead others to believe that they are easy; yet, get them behind closed doors and you will find out what they are made of.
Positives: They let everything roll off their backs.  Interested in other cultures, independent
Negatives: Difficult to pin down
Quote:"Only the educated are free."-- Epictetus, Discourses Roman (Greek-born) slave & Stoic philosopher (55 AD - 135 AD)

Capricorn the Goat
(December 21-January 20)
Goats are practical to the extreme.  They will therefore leave no stone unturned for self-promotion for money's sake.  Titles, fancy cars, and material objects are all parts of Capricorn's goals, although the truth is that they can be frugal--and even downright cheap, when necessary.  they are martyrs who often do alot for others and make sure others know how heavy is thier burden.  However, if you need a dependable, hard-working, and loyal partner, there can be no better than the Goat.
Positives: Relaible, diligent, acquisitve
Negatives: Complaining, martyric, and chinzy
Quote:"Woe is me!"

Aquarius the Water-Bearer
 (January 21-February 20)
Aquarians are already living in the future.  they are fast-paced, technical minded, environmentally concerned, and here to help the community.  They are also loners, even though they are charismatic and beloved by many.  Every Aquarian has a cave to retreat to--after the party!
Positives: Community-oriented, caring about the earth, oriented to problem solve
Negatives: Detached emotionally, sometimes lonely
Quote:"Pray that your loneliness may spur you into finding something to live for, great enough to die for."-- Dag Hammarskjold Swedish diplomat (1905 - 1961)

Pisces the Fish
(February 21-March 20)

Fish are loving and affectionate individuals, geared to spiritual things and the arts.  They are known as somewhat unmotivated workers, unless their work is something they love, and then they give it their all.  They also tend to like to indulge--or over-indulge--in pleasures like food, wine, drugs, and sex, as well as other pleasant sensual experiences.
Positives: Demonstrative, kind-hearted, compassionate, intuitive
Negatives: Lazy, addictive or over-indulgent
Quote:"There is no remedy for love but to love more."-- Henry David Thoreau, Journal, July 25, 1839 US Transcendentalist author (1817 - 1862)
